Personal

I received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania in 1980 and a J.D. from New York Law School in 1983. I have been admitted to practice in New York State and the United States District Court (Southern & Eastern Districts of New York) since 1984. I am a member of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), where I am a member of the Real Property Law, General Practice and Trusts and Estates Law Sections. I was selected to serve as a member of the NYSBA’s Committee on Condominiums and Cooperatives. I am also a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, where I was recently chosen to serve on the Committee on Cooperative and Condominium Law. I have served as an Arbitrator in Small Claims Court in Manhattan and am a member of the Association of Arbitrators. I am also a member and immediate Past President of BNI Manhattan Chapter 7. BNI is an international networking group that promotes collaboration among a variety of professions and provides me with access to valued colleagues who provide support to my practice.

I live in Manhattan and have been happily married for 28 years. My wife, Wendy Cohen, and I are members of USA Triathlon and the New York Road Runners Club, and we both ran the ING New York Marathon in 2007,  2008 and  2010. We have two terrific children, Alex and Sarah.
