Personal

I received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania in 1980 and a J.D. from New York Law School in 1983. I have been admitted to practice in New York State and the United States District Court (Southern & Eastern Districts of New York) since 1984. I have served as an Arbitrator in Small Claims Court in Manhattan and am a member of the Association of Arbitrators. I am also a member and Past President of BNI Manhattan Chapter 7. BNI is an international networking group that promotes collaboration among a variety of professions and provides me with access to valued colleagues who support my practice. I am a member of the National Association of Divorce Professionals and of the Penn Club of New York, where I participate in a monthly networking lunch group.

I live in Manhattan with my wife Wendy Cohen. We have two terrific children, Alex and Sarah. Wendy and I have done over 25 triathlons, and we both ran the ING New York Marathon in 2007, 2008 and 2010 (she has run it a total of 10 times!). I am an avid golfer and cyclist, both indoor (thank you, Peloton!) and outdoor. I am also passionate about softball. I have played on a team with my son, brothers, nephews and friends since 2007. We have recently become pickleball fanatics!
